Natural Resources Joint Advisory Group

Natural Resources Joint Advisory Group (NRJAG)- Oversees master planning for forest and natural resources with representatives from the FNRC, PRC, and C2E2 and County staff. Two minutes for each speaker at the beginning of each meeting. Get more information and sign-up here. The agenda and materials for their meetings can be found at this web page. This group has oversight over the preparation of the Forestry and Natural Resources Plan currently under development.

On November 7th, the NRJAG will be reviewing two key agenda items that you can comment on virtually at the beginning of the meeting:

  • Adam Segel-Moss, Community Engagement Manager, Missing Middle Housing study
Ryan Delaney, Principal Planner. The planned up-zoning of all Arlington lots to multi-units will trigger a State law that lowers the requirements to replanting trees by 50%!

  • Arlington County Department of Parks and Recreation
Summary of public feedback on preliminary draft of the Forestry and Natural
Resources Plan. Many citizens and the Forestry and Natural Resources Commission have been highly critical of aspects of this plan including lack of specificity and sense of urgency. You can make your thoughts known at the beginning of the meeting as mentioned above. ATAG’s comments to the Board can be seen here.
