Trees are serving you now. “Green infrastructure” employs our natural resources to provide essential public services. Trees provide essential services that include stormwater interception and flood control, air pollution reduction, urban heat relief, improved water quality, and recreation. Environmental Justice

The tree canopy cover varies widely in Arlington from 17% to 77%. Some disparities are reflect urbanization along commercial corridors, but others reflect deficits resulting from socioeconomic inequities. Efforts are underway to implement a program to change how resources are being used and remediate the inequities. Learn more.
