Missing Middle
The current proposal from County staff for revision to the Zoning Ordinance would upzone all residential properties to allow up to 8 unit buildings anywhere in the County. ATAG has analyzed the proposal and has determined that this could be devastating to our tree canopy. The problems include loss of the 20% canopy replacement requirement for all new development over 20 years when existing Virginia zoning laws are applied. Here is some additional information.
