Arlington Heat Mapping Starts 7/15
Basically, with about 20 volunteers, we will be sampling the heat all over Arlington to get a better understanding of heat distributions across the county. With devices that will be attached to the volunteers' cars, and can take heat measurements every second, volunteers will be traversing 5 distinct routes across Arlington at three separate times during the day, 6:00 am, 3:00 pm, and 7:00 pm. We found out yesterday afternoon that the scheduled date for the heat mapping will be July 15th. On the same day, heat watch programs will be underway across the state as other VFIC Universities map the heat in their cities and towns.
