Decline of insects and consequences

I wonder if any of you have also noticed the decline, especially of pollinators. I’ve seen only 2 swallowtail butterflies this entire season, in my garden. Last year there were dozens!

Fewer bees overall and almost no mosquitoes, for which I’m personally thankful, but concerned for unforeseen consequences.

Locally, more neighbors have enlisted pest control companies to spray their entire property several times over the season- only one company appears to only use a repellant rather than a pesticide.

That said, it would appear that the overall decline may be a worldwide phenomenon.

I can’t help suspecting that various forms of pollutants are causing this decline.
